Whisps of Hair and Shadow

So, since pencil is pretty much the only medium available to me right now, I've been working with it a lot. This is done from a picture that I took. I thought it came out pretty well and actually looks realistic, which was what I was trying to do. I'm trying to get better at realistic drawing as well as with pencil. I still need to work on shadows and lighting and blending, but this one came out better than some of my others. The hair was really fun. I found out that using an 7-10 H pencil works really well for drawing the little flyaway pieces of hair, but you can't see them very well in the pic since they're really light. Once again, the lips were one of the funnest parts haha...
